Winemaking is
their passion. Archery Summit mission is to produce America's premier Pinot Noirs which express their specific sense of site, and
they own more than one hundred acres in three estate vineyards: Archery Summit Estate, Red Hills Estate and Arcus Estate densely planted to achieve concentration of flavors. Taste the expression of terroir from the Dundee Hills in each captivating glass of Archery Summit Pinot Noir.
At their 100% gravity flow facility from winemaking to bottling, they craft
their wine in the Old World Burgundian tradition of gently handling delicate Pinot Noir. Archery Summit caves are home to more than 550 French oak and Oregon oak barrels.
Archery Summit Winery was founded by Nancy and Gary Andrus in 1993, and is the ‘sister’ operation of Pine Ridge Winery in the Napa Valley. Gary Andrus left the winery in 2000 when a new winemaker and management team stepped in. This month, that team releases the first wines they were responsible for, from harvest thought release.
Archery Summit The Archery Summit portfolio is comprised of Archery Summit Estate, Arcus Estate, Red Hills Estate and Renegade Ridge Estate. Expressive wines from each of these vineyards also create the backbone of
their exceptional blend, Premier Cuvée. Archery Summit produces five distinguished Pinot Noirs from this appellation, including the Premier Cuvée, Red Hills Estate, Renegade Ridge Estate, Arcus Estate and Archery Summit Estate bottlings. A selection of these estate Pinot Noirs are available for tasting at the winery.
Archery Summit Pinot Noir Willamette valley Arcus Estate 2003
2003 Arcus Estate Pinot Noir Named #29 on Wine Spectator's Top 100 Wines of 2006!
"Oregon sweltered through a hot summer in 2003, but the Arcus Estate vineyard produced a wine of extraordinary balance. ... Those who achieved a nice balance made some gorgeous wines, such as the dense and dramatic Archery Summit Pinot Noir Willamette Valley Arcus Estate 2003, its whoosh of raspberry, red plum and cherry flavors hardly slowed by the mouthcoating tannins."

Oregon Wineries
Oregon wineries are generally small and decentralized within each official wine region of the state. They are often winemaker- or family-owned. Most Oregon wine regions lie in valleys between the southern Cascade Mountains that run through the state and its Coastal Range to the west. Dundee Hills saw the planting of many of Oregon’s first vineyards more than 40 years ago and was the third of six proposed Oregon AVAs
to be approved by the federal Bureau of Tax & Trade. It is defined
geographically by the red volcanic soil located above the 200 ft. elevation
in the hills surrounding the small town of Dundee. Today Oregon has a reputation for producing world class wines. Principal plantings include Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris. Other reds include Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Zinfandel; other whites include – Chardonnay, Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Blanc, Sémillon and Gewürztraminer. |
