Rocca delle Macie
Rocca delle Maće was established in 1973, when Italo Zingarelli – producer of Ettore Scola’s We All Loved Each Other So Much, and also of the wildly popular series of films featuring comedy duo Bud Spencer and Terence Hill (including They Call Me Trinity and Trinity Is Still My Name) – decided to realize his lifelong dream by acquiring the “Le Maće” estate.
The vineyards are subdivided across the company's six estates: Le Maće, Sant'Alfonso, Fizzano e le Tavolelle in the Chianti Classico zone, in addition to the recently purchased Campomaccione and Casamaria in the Morellino di Scansano zone.
Rocca delle Macie Roccato 2006 The grapes are painstakingly selected by hand before being vinified separately and then left to mature in French oak barriques for between 9 and 13 months. The two varieties are kept separated through the all process and once blended, the wine is aged for a further three months in 35hl barrels, followed by another year in the bottle.
