Sanguineti is one of the driving forces behind Small Vineyards, an importing house specializing in finding wines of unique quality and value.
With Small Vineyard you have a guarantee that the wine is hand-harvested, earth-friendly, and from a family-owned estate. Today, his Small Vineyards company is known for its unique wines that focus on quality not quantity. The first time you try one of Antonio’s wines, you’ll realize how perfectly they match the man–bold, intelligent reds that simultaneously suggest control and grace. Without the ongoing overhead of a estate, Antonio is able to produce truly outstanding wines for a modest price.
Antonio Sanguineti Nessun Dorma 2013
Named for Antonio's favorite aria, this is his take on a Super Tuscan but without the Super Tuscan price. It's an unusual blend of Sangiovese, Merlot and Syrah that offers dried cherry and spice aromas with touches of mocha, toast and coffee. Vines are carefully selected from all around Tuscany; the Merlot is intensely floral and elegant, while the Sangiovese is fresh and bright. Syrah adds depth and body, offering a bold expression of forest-floor truffle, ripe cherry and blackberry preserves.
It, Now! |
Think of Small Vineyards as your personal wine detectives in Italy.
They typically taste 200 to 300 wines each month, but only fall in love with one or two. Those
they bring home, so that you, too, can discover them.
As wonderful as the wine is, the stories of the families and artisans who make them are equally important.
