Mischief & Mayhem
Mischief and Mayhem is the creation of Michael and Fiona Ragg, whose passion for wine, and for Burgundy in particular, inspired them to move to the region and create the company. The concept of Mischief and Mayhem is to produce excellent wines from a broad variety of vineyard sites throughout the Côte d’Or and Chablis. The company achieved full domaine status in 2012 with the purchase of a small plot in Aloxe-Corton. An additional vineyard in Savigny-les-Beaune Premier Cru Aux Gravains was added to the portfolio in 2013.
Mischief & Mayhem Chardonnay 2011
Hard work in amongst the vines, terrific vintage conditions and superb chardonnay vineyard sites with an average vine age of 40 years. Beautiful purity of fruit so
typical, light barrel treatment and early bottling, all integrate to produce a wine of real fruit character, minerality and purity. This is a classic white burgundy and we really hope that you will enjoy it.
Pale straw in color with a touch of gold. Beautifully clean, pure, mid-intensity nose of ripe melon, lemon zest, white peach, lychee and honeycomb, with traces of baked apple and shortbread.
Lovely freshness in the mouth and excellent cleansing acidity with notes of pear, apple and lime with a beautiful soft, creamy finish. Excellent.
It, Now! |
The Burgundy region lies a couple of hundred miles east and north of Bordeaux. It covers a large area, the vineyards running in a long, thin line from Auxerre in the north to Lyon in the south. The climate is continental, with cold winters, hot summers but plenty of rain. It is easiest to think of Burgundy in terms of its distinct regions. Running from north to south, these are: Chablis, The Côte de Nuit, The Côte de Beaune, The Côte Chalonnaise, The Mâconnais and Beaujolais.
