Chateau
Margaux Polished and fragrant, the red wines produced at the Chateau Margaux have enjoyed a renaissance sine the late 1970's, and are now some of the very best in Bordeaux. Chateau Margaux, a 1er Grand Cru
Classé, has been owned by the Mentzelopoulos Family since 1978 - since then it has consistently produced the finest wines in The
Médoc. The large 90 hectare Property produces over 30,000 cases per year and is located in the
center of the Margaux Appellation.
A cru of such renown cannot be allowed to suffer even the slightest decline in standards.
Château Margaux is a wine with an incomparable personality, reflected in the elegant Palladian building which adorns its label.
Chateau
Margaux Here splendor is born of the continuous, joint efforts of the very finest craftsmen. Outdoors, the vineyard-workers. In the cellars, the many skills involved in winemaking.
The vineyards (Cabernet Sauvignon 75%, Merlot 20%, Cabernet Franc 2%, Petit Verdot 3%) lie on a sandy-stone topsoil, beneath which is to be found gravel & then clay.
In the past the wine was described as feminine in character but in the last twenty years
Chateau Margaux has displayed more weight and concentration, and today represents the perfect balance between finesse and power.

Chateau Margaux 2003 Exceptional
In an appellation that was not nearly as homogeneous in quality as Pauillac and St.-Estephe, manager Paul Pontallier has produced a prodigious 2003 Chateau Margaux that, qualitatively, towers over all the other Margaux estates. From yields of only 30 hectoliters per hectare, it includes 45% of the total crop, and spiritually as well as stylistically, represents a hypothetical blend of the 1990 and 1996. Opaque purple-colored, with an extraordinary perfume of spring flowers, blueberries, black currants, licorice, and vanillin, this 2003 exhibits an opulent texture, tremendous structure as well as definition, and an ethereal lightness of being despite its prodigious concentration.

Chateau Margaux 2001 Bordeaux, France
Performing well from bottle, Chateau Margaux’s 2001, which is somewhat reminiscent of both the 1985 and 1999, is an elegant, seamlessly constructed effort with a deep ruby/purple color, and a beautiful nose of flowers, creme de cassis, blackberries, and cedar. - Rated 93, Robert Parker

Chateau Margaux 2003 Bordeaux, France
This shows great depth on the nose with fruit, mineral and a meaty character. Very rich and decadent for Margaux. Full-bodied, with a solid core of sweet and silky tannins and a long, long finish. This is very racy and rich, with a fabulous velvety texture. Goes on and on. The most concentrated Margaux ever. Wine Spectator Rating 95-100

Chateau Pavillon Rouge du Margaux 2003 1.5.Liter
A terrific, value-priced second wine, the 2003 Pavillon Rouge du Chateau Margaux (150,000 bottles produced) may be the finest example of this cuvee I have yet tasted. Its dense ruby/purple hue is followed by creamy aromas of cassis, vanilla, flowers, and licorice. Round, generous, savory, expansive, and amazingly long as well as concentrated, I even joked with Paul Pontallier that this could get him fired as perhaps the selection was too severe! This 2003 should drink well for 15+ years.
