Domaine
Leroy In 1942, Henri Leroy purchased half of the prestigious Domaine de la Romanee-Conti and devoted himself entirely to this "Domaine" for the next forty years. He developed it into what is referred to today as the "fleuron de la Bourgogne" or the gem of Burgundy. Lalou Bize-Leroy was leading the Romanée-Conti Estate. She created the Leroy Estate in 1998 where she advocates "biodynamie", low yields and long fermentation before very careful ageing. Consideration for the "terroir" and obsession with quality are her rules to elaborate marvelous wines.
Lalou, Henri’s daughter, joined the family business in 1955. With great devotion and arduous work, she set out to comprehend and identify the essential characteristics of each "terroir" from every vineyard of Burgundy. Today, her ability in this regard is world renown. With the purchases of the estates of Charles Noellat at Vosne-Romanee and Philippe-Remy at Gerrey-Chambertin, Lalou launched Domaine Leroy in 1988.
Domaine Leroy wines have been paragons of quality since 1988.
