Domaine
Leflaive is one of the top producers of white Burgundy with extensive holdings
in some of the world's greatest vineyards, such as Batard Montrachet, Chevalier
Montrachet and Montrachet itself. Purity, sincerity, authenticity: Domaine Leflaive, more so than ever at the dawn of this new century, can look to the future serenely. These three qualities that are basic to its style since its creation have never been able to express themselves as forcefully as they do today.
It is certain that luck, or rather the "land instinct" of its founders, has endowed it with great parcels of land representative of Puligny's best grands crus and premiers crus. But we owe the use of biodynamic viticultural practises to the new generation of administrators, in particular Anne Claude Leflaive. She is justifiably convinced, together with Pierre Morey, her estate manager, that biodynamics reinforces the originality of expression of the terroirs and will give wines that are truer and purer.
