Chateau
Haut-Brion Chateau Haut-Brion is the oldest and by
far the smallest of the "Premiers crus classés" vineyards of the
Bordeaux 1855 classification and one of the few remaining family-owned domains
of the Bordeaux region. Haut-Brion produced the first wine
sold under the name of its vineyard site in 1533. The only first-growth to be American owned and Bordeaux's first internationally acclaimed winemaking estate. Chateau Haut Brion dates back to 1525 when Jean de Pontac married Jeanne de Bellon who brought to him in her dowry the land of Haut Brion. Illustrious owners have marked Haut Brion for more than four centuries: admirals, an archbishop, a Grand Marshal of France, a Governor of Guyenne, three mayors of Bordeaux, Charles-Maurice de Talleyrand-Perigord. In 1935, Chateau Haut-Brion
was bought by an American, Clarence Douglas Dillon, the Ambassador of the United States in Paris, who was also Minister of Finance in the U.S. when J.F. Kennedy was president. The chateau is owned now by his
granddaughter, the Duchesse de Mouchy and run by Jean Delmas, Estate Manager.
Chateau
Haut-Brion Red Haut-Brion has such a
reputation for great wine that it was the only vineyard outside of the Médoc to
be featured as "Premier Grand Cru" in the 1855 classification of
Médoc red wines. Haut-Brion is one of the few vineyards left within the
suburban Bordeaux limits. The wine is impeccable and is regarded as one of the
best first growths. To search for the Vintage Tasting Notes Click

Haut-Brion 2000 Exceptional, Graves, Bordeaux
Really ripe, with a powerful berry and marmalade character on the nose. Full-bodied, with silky tannins and a long finish. Very fresh and fine. It is delicate yet thick, juicy and succulent. However, the 2000 seems to possess an obvious overlay of tannin as well as a degree of precision and freshness, largely attributed to slightly high acidity. A superlative effort. Anticipated maturity:

Bahans Haut-Brion 2000, Graves, Bordeaux
The second wine of Haut-Brion is not the product of a place known as of particular pieces. It comes from the same soil as the high-class wine, it has of it the same origin, the same personality, the same characteristics, the same originality. But the high-class wine is the research of best and the second wine does not have the power of it nor complexity. The second wine is the high-class wine in small-scale model.

Chateau Haut Brion White In
the Bordeaux region, especially in the Médoc, a growing number of red wine
makers have recently started producing wine wine. At Haut-Brion, white wine has
been produced continuously since the Eighteenth Century.
 Chateau
La Mission Haut Brion
Whatever the vintage, the wine of La Mission is always great. Even the forgotten
vintages are good. There is no mediocre vintage at La Mission. A powerful, very
expressive wine - impressive to the connoisseur - this is the image of the wine
of La Mission among tasters.
The vineyard of Château La Mission Haut Brion owes its name, origin and ancient reputation to a congregation which is called "The Mission Preachers" founded in the 17th century by Saint Vincent de Paul. After the Revolution, the property was confiscated and put up for sale. In 1792 it was acquired by Martial-Victor Vaillant. In 1821, the estate passed into the hands of a richer farmer, followed by Jerome and then Victor Coustau. Finally in 1920, Frederic Woltner purchased La Mission Haut Brion. A few years later, in 1924 Madame Coustau sold to the Woltners, the neighboring vineyard of La tour Haut Brion.

Mission Haut Brion 2000 Exceptional, Graves, Bordeaux
That it is the most extraordinary La Mission made since the 1989, as well as one of the wines of the vintage. A blend of 58% Merlot, 32% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 10% Cabernet Franc, the 2000 La Mission boasts a striking nose of black fruits, scorched earth, and minerals. It possesses an unctuous texture, yet comes across as fresh in spite of its massive, full-bodied, thick, dense, profoundly deep personality. A great, great La Mission.
