Georges Duboeuf is one of France's largest and best-known French wine merchants. The company was founded in 1964 by Georges Duboeuf, the son of a wine-grower. Georges Duboeuf, the largest Beaujolais bottler by far, has been called "the prince of Beaujolais" and "the Beaujolais king." He is a négociant who produces more than 25 million cases of wine annually. Duboeuf is almost single-handedly responsible for the annual Beaujolais nouveau phenomenon, and has won awards for his wines. Many snobs scoff at the simplicity of Beaujolais wines; however,
most are under fifteen bucks, and the price plus the universal appeal make it a good choice for an outdoor barbecue or similar get-together. Its policy - tradition and quality - has met with spectacular success built upon its Beaujolais, Maconnais and Rhone Valley wines.
Today, Vins Georges Duboeuf continues to balance respect of tradition and commercial growth with its expanded regional offering of a vide range of that includes fine wines from the Beaujolais to the, Pays d'Oc, Ardeche and Jardin de la France. Beyond the popular Nouveau, Duboeuf's other wines are very good -- and affordable.
