Chateau
Cheval Blanc Château Cheval-Blanc's origins are lost in the mists of time. The origins of the name remain apocryphal despite numerous inquisitions by myself when visiting the property. One myth is that it marks the location of a post house where Henry IV changed horse...or perhaps not? The estate has long had the honor of belonging to the group of the eight greatest growths in Bordeaux, and owes its fame to its remarkable soil.
Continuous quality-oriented family management through the
years resulted in a tradition of excellence.
When the Saint Emilion classification took place in 1954, Cheval-Blanc was one of only two properties deemed worthy of its highest echelon: Premier Grand Cru Category "A"
Chateau
Cheval Blanc Cheval-Blanc's unique identity is due to its varied soils, early-ripening microclimate, the percentage of Cabernet Franc in the vineyards, and the close proximity of the finest wines of Pomerol. Pierre Lurton explains it this way : "Cheval-Blanc is powerful (but never agressive), round, silky, unfailingly elegant and stylish in its matrix of Cabernet Franc surrounded by Merlot. Cheval-Blanc is located on the border between Pomerol and Saint Emilion. The wine is a bit like a Pomerol, without entirely resembling a Saint-Emilion. Thanks to its freshness and "cashmere" tannin, it ages beautifully. The wine becomes increasingly complex and subtle as time goes on".

We
all cross milestones through our lives - whether it be an anniversary, a
corporate achievement or even a retirement. The Birthdate Vintage Gift is
particularly significant - a really unique gift that shows how much they are
appreciated. It includes one of the finest wines from the year of their birth
beautifully presented with an original copy of The Times from the day they were
born? Birthday

Chateau Cheval Blanc 2003 Bordeaux
A delicate, elegant style of Cheval, that’s more into fruit than size, structure, and intensity, this soft, finesse-styled, medium-bodied effort reveals notes of cranberries, mangoes, cherries, and crushed stones in its moderately intense perfume. In the mouth, it is stylish, soft, pure, and builds incrementally. About 4% press wine was added to the final blend. Wine Spectator Review 95-100
