Napa Ridge was founded in 1986 by its corporate owners, Wine World Estates, as something of a more affordable wine than its big brother, Beringer.
Napa Ridge was often called Beringer's "second label." Now, Napa Ridge is made in a separate facility at Geyserville and has its own winemaker (David Schlottman who has been associated with the winery since its inception). Also the source of grapes for the wines made by Napa Ridge ranges from the North Coast to the Central Coast and, yes, that includes Napa Valley.
Napa Ridge Cabernet Sauvignon
Delightful fruit flavors of raspberry and black cherry marry with savory anise, vanilla, and a hint of coffee. Gracious tannins coddle the palate, leaving a pleasant sensation of warmth and fullness.
One of the best values of the year. Rich, but easy on the palate. Cabernet Sauvignon has long been planted all over the wine growing world. Contrary to popular belief Cabernet Sauvignon is not Bordeaux's most planted vine. Try this Cabernet Sauvignon with grilled tri-tip, cassoulet, spaghetti and meatballs, sharp cheeses.
