 In 1966 Robert G. Mondavi and his eldest son, R. Michael Mondavi, found Robert Mondavi Winery.
Few California wineries have contributed as much to the progress in vineyard and cellar in the Golden State as Robert Mondavi Winery, and few individuals in the wine business have been such great ambassadors at large for wine as Robert Mondavi himself. From its scrappy beginnings in 1968, Mondavi has grown to become a publicly traded company and an international business.
Opus
One Gift Basket
Founded in 1979 by Robert Mondavi and Baron Philippe de
Rothschild, the framework of a joint venture was put together within one hour
after a visit in Bordeaux. They purchase a 50-acre ranch, the "River Parcel" in
Oakville, east of Highway 29 et choose a name of Latin origin "OPUS" for easy
recognition in French and English.
