Lewis Cellars is a small family winery established in 1992 by Debbie and Randy Lewis, and recently joined by their son Dennis. Total production is approximately 8,500 cases annually of Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Merlot and Syrah.
They are literally hands-on in every aspect of vineyard management, winemaking, sales and distribution, and we thrive on this challenge and the relationships we cultivate in the process. It is
their continuing goal to create world class wines.
The unique style of their wine begins in the vineyards. We source the finest fruit available from Oakville, Rutherford and Pritchard Hill for red varietals, and the Carneros and Russian River Valley appellations for Chardonnay. Lewis wines begin as numerous small lots of fruit identified by vineyard and varietal. The Chardonnay is 100% whole cluster pressed, barrel fermented and aged sur lies in 100% French oak for 11 months. We aim for a rich, complex and balanced wine.
Lewis Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley 2003
Showcasing the unique personalities of small hillside vineyards from Pritchard Hill, Rutherford, and Calistoga
their Napa Valley Cabernet delivers compelling aromas of black currant, mocha and sweet oak spice. 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, the wine is complex, rich and focused. Built around a core of concentrated fruit, it serves up sumptuous, round, mouth-feel with traces of tobacco and briar. Beautifully structured, the wine develops distinctive chocolate flavors that travel long on the finish with finely integrated tannins. Ripe, plush, complex and concentrated, with layers of generous plum, currant and blackberry fruit framed by judicious toasty oak. Finishes with a flourish of flavors
