 Kendall-Jackson's Proprietor, Jess Jackson saw in the fine vineyards of California's cool coastal regions, fruit with a variety of outstanding flavors. The result was Vintner's Reserve Chardonnay, a rich, round and flavorful wine, made with hand-crafted methods, including small oak barrel fermentation and aging, malolactic fermentation and aging on the yeast lees. The first vintage in 1983 was greeted with acclaim from consumers and wine critics alike as were succeeding vintages.

The 2003 Grand Reserve Chardonnay, which is accessed from Sonoma, Santa
Barbara, and Monterey, sees about 30% new French oak, enjoys 100%
malolactic in barrel, and is aged sur-lies. This gorgeous Chardonnay
displays vanilla cream, white peach, lemon butter, and popcorn-like
characteristics.
