Frog's Leap Winery in Napa Valley, California was founded in 1981
by John Williams and Larry Turley on a spot along Mill Creels known as the Frog Farm. An old ledger revealed that around the turn of the century frogs were raised there. Frog's Leap features organically grown grapes and dry-farmed vineyards.
Frog's Leap Chardonnay 2006
Chardonnay is a wine that retains a delicate slate, lemongrass aromatic with just a hint of stone fruit.
Leap's Frog greatest contribution is to impose less of themselves upon the wine, allowing the Chardonnay its own light, energy, freshness and honesty. Instead of hammering more wood onto the house,
they favor restraint and modesty in their winemaking. Super clean on the palate, this wine's rich flavors are all underscored by a light touch of minerality. The superb balance of bright acid and lovely flavors of peach and citrus make this your go-to wine for all you seafood delights.
Pairs perfectly with freshly shucked oysters to a simple grilled or sauteed filet of sole.
