Cycles Gladiator Winery
Cycles Gladiator symbolizes a celebration of the freedom and happiness that pervaded Europe in the late 19th century – during an era known as the Belle Epoque. Started in Paris in 1891 by Alexandre Darracq (an eccentric who would later become famous for manufacturing automobiles), Gladiator was one of the dozens of bicycle companies that made their way into the market when the cycling craze boomed. The golden age of cycling reached its pinnacle in 1895. The mythological image of the nymph riding her winged bicycle captures the grace and uninhibited beauty of
their hillside vineyards.
Cycles Gladiator Zinfandel Lodi 2011
Grown and produced in Lodi, the Zinfandel capital of the world, this brilliantly ruby-hued Zin shows off enticing aromas of ripe blackberries and wisps of allspice. After thorough swirling, a sip reveals layers of blackberries and black cherry jam, touched by flavors reminiscent of caramelized brown sugar. Cycles Gladiator Zinfandel’s bold flavor complements a silky texture and firm tannins on the finish. A touch of acid aids this wine’s smooth rounded finish.
A smooth, round, fragrant varietal styling of the Cycles Gladiator, which has its own floral/violet, tobacco and anise-like spice touches.
