Cakebread Chardonnay 2012
The 2012 Chardonnay is a delicious expression of a picture-perfect vintage. Cakebread's Napa Valley Chardonnay is sourced mostly from sites in the cooler Southern districts. The majority of the fruit is harvested at night to enhance freshness and improve the quality of the fruit as it enters the winery. Subject to fog and cool breezes from nearby San Pablo Bay, Carneros enjoys a long growing season that ripens its fruit fully while retaining the bright acidity that gives our chardonnay its freshness and vitality. The clusters are then pressed whole, and the juice transferred into a combination of French oak barrels and stainless steel tanks.
