Aquinas wines are named for St. Thomas Aquinas, the seminal 13th century Italian priest who dedicated his life to reconciling reason and faith. Saint Thomas Aquinas was one of the most important Medieval philosophers and theologians. Aquinas wines are born from
their belief that sophisticated, luxurious wines from pre-eminent appellations should be within the reach of all.
They meticulously scour Napa Valley, leveraging generations of deep relationships to find the perfect fruit.
Aquinas Cabernet Sauvignon 2012
This wine has a classic Cabernet nose, with blackberry, black cherry, and plum components, and layers of deeper complexity. The four percent Petite Sirah adds intense color and ripe blueberry fruit to the palate. Dark chocolate and cardamom spice linger in the background with a hint of truffle. On the palate, blackberry cobbler flavors come through with dark chocolate, black cherry, and a touch of molasses. This wine’s silky body is particularly inviting; juicy with fruit flavor, its full tannins give it a rich, fleshy quality. A big, full-bodied Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon from start to finish, this wine’s great fruit intensity yields to velvety tannins and a strong, bold finish.
