Crafted by winemaker Bob Andrake, Hurricane Ridge Winery creates bold, Bordeaux-style red wine from leading Red Mountain vineyards. Cabernet
Sauvignon lovers the world over are drawn to cabernet wines for their spectrum and depth of flavor. Some folks like them in their first five years of life when they are still untamed and have a real "grip" to them. The grapes that produce these full-flavored wines come from the great viticultural of Washington, were pressed and fermented in small lots to retain the true aromas and taste of the fruit. The Hurricane Ridge Cabernet Sauvignon is deep in blackberry and blueberry fruit, with toasty oak nuances and manageable tannins. This wine ages gracefully, but tastes great young.
Wine arrives in a wood crate engraved with a vineyard motif. Gift measures
16" x 7" x 7" and weighs 6 lbs.

Washington State's wines
Located on approximately the same latitude (46șN) as some of the great French wine regions of Bordeaux and Burgundy, Washington State wine country includes nine federally recognized American Viticultural Areas (AVAs),
commonly known as appellations; three of them share territory with Oregon State.
Washington Wine Country. Climates of individual Washington wine regions differ dramatically. Cross cut north to south by the Cascade Mountains, Washington State is more mild and lush to the west of this volcanically formed barrier than the lands to its east.

Sauvignon
Cabernet Sauvignon was originally planted sporadically around the Columbia Valley starting in 1963. Oddly, it was grafted from vines in Oregon, which now plants much less cabernet than Washington. 10 years later, the first serious effort was made at a cabernet vineyard at Cold Creek near Wapato, WA. Once virtually alone in a sea of riesling and concord vineyards though concord vineyard still outweighs vinifera vineyard by 2:1, cabernet
sauvignon is now responsible for nearly 3000 of Washington's 17,000 vinifera acres.
