Syrah - Shiraz
Syrah,
Shiraz, Best Buy
Most prominent in France's Rhone Valley with such legendary wines as Cote-Rotie and Hermitage. Also very successful in Australia, where it is known as Shiraz, and increasingly in other parts of the world as well.
Flavors range from white pepper and red berries in the cooler areas, to richer fuller bodied chunky berries in the warmer regions, such as the Barossa Valley. Great to drink and cellar A hearty, spicy red. Wonderfully great with steak, beef and stews.

Rosemount

Rosemount Shiraz, Australia
Bright, plum appearance with an attractive purple edge. The aroma is vibrant and lively with an excellent varietal definition of warm spices, brambles and dark plums. The palate is dominated by well defined, ripe fruit, a soft, generous mid-palate and a long, rich finish. This is supported by fine-grained tannins and a delicious underlay of toasty American oak. The wine drinks well now and will reward 6 to 8 years of further bottle maturation.
