In 1980, Piper Sonoma was founded with the long-term goal of creating America's
finest "methode champenoise" sparkling wines. Piper Sonoma recognized in the
soils and climate of northern Sonoma County the potential to carry on the great
traditions of champagne, but in the spirit and style of California.
Sparkling Wine
Following the model of Champagne, sparkling wines are made throughout the world.
The best of them use the same method, with a second fermentation occurring in
the bottle. Good sparklers come from other parts of France, Italy, Spain,
Australia and California. The wines are crisp, lively, and full of apple and
yeasty bread scents.

Piper Sonoma Blanc de Noir
Piper Sonoma Blanc De Noir is a classic expression of Pinot Noir and Pinot
Meunier, the major grapes of this blend, hand picked from the cool
vineyards of Northern Sonoma County. We are one of the few sparkling wine
producers in the world utilizing French Oak in our winemaking. Each year
our cuvees are blended with reserve wines aged in large oak foudres. This
adds depth and complexity and insures Piper Sonoma will deliver
exceptional quality year after year.
