Located in the great regions of wine-growing Champagne,
the vineyards of TAITTINGER spread over 650 acres comprising 15 different
vineyards. Champagne Taittinger was established in 1931 by Pierre Taittinger on the foundations of Forest-Forneaux, itself established in 1734 and the third-oldest wine producing house of Champagne.
The varietals consist of 40% Chardonnay, 45% Pinot Noir, 15% Pinot Meunier.
The vineyards own production is supplemented by contractual acquisition of grapes in the best vineyards of Champagne.
Proportionately to this size, TAITTINGER is, among the great Champagne brands, the grower with the largest supply from the côte des Blancs.
Comtes de Champagne, Blanc de blanc
This outstanding champagne was made in the cellars of the old Saint-Nicaise Abbey in Reims. These cellars are strictly reserved for this " Comtes de Champagne " of which the greatest care has been taken right up to its peak.
Taittinger Comtes de Champagne Blanc de Blanc 2005
This superb Champagne, produced only in years exceptional enough to declare a vintage, is appropriately presented in an antique-style bottle of XVIIIth century design. Comtes de Champagne Blanc de Blancs is the ultimate expression of the Taittinger style, a Champagne of great refinement, elegance and delicacy. The clean, aristocratic Chardonnay fragrance is offset by warm, toasty nuances, which carry onto a palate of finely- balanced, generous white fruit flavors underscored by a fine, crisp acidity and subtle mineral notes. The refined, toasty finish is lasting and complex.
"A flashy, stylish blanc de
blancs, this has exotic, dark tones to its mature fruit and toasty lees.
Severe at first, like a brooding supermodel, this relents with air and
gives a little plumpness, sharing some of its riches in a supple,
elegant texture. With its heady complexity, this is a Champagne to serve
with blini and smoked salmon." - Rated 93 Wine & Spirits.

Taittinger NV Brut La Francaise Champagne, France
A blend of some 30 Chardonnay and Pinot Noir vineyards, respectively 40% and 60% of the total, from several harvests of perfectly ripened grapes. Color is a brilliant golden straw-yellow. It has small, fine bubbles and the froth is both discreet and persistent. Smell: the nose is very expressive and developed, full of fruit and brioche. It includes aromas of peach, white flowers (hawthorn, acacia) and vanilla pods. Taste: on the palate, this fresh, lively wine is equally harmonious. It is a delicate wine with a predominance of fresh fruit and honey. Overall quality: this wine has highly developed aromatic potential. After three to four years' cellaring, it has now reached full maturity.
