As always, half Meunier and the balance is 40% Pinot Noir and 10% Chardonnay.
Discreetly bready-mushroomy nose, firmed up by 1998 but with acres of
salty-juicy 1997 fruit and pearsy upfront charm. Not quite the party-animal last
year's was, but still genial.
Exotic, evoking tropical fruit, citrus and butterscotch, with a creamy texture
backed by a firm thread of acidity. Real depth and concentration here, followed
by a long finish.
