Sokol Blosser Pinot Noir
This wine, while still relatively young, is already showing some of the distinctive earth and truffle character our Pinot noirs develop as they age in the bottle. The aromas and flavors are of black cherry, violets, leather, cola, licorice and mocha, the tannins are smooth, soft and supple, and the finish is plush and long. Because of the heat and higher sugars of this vintage, there is more opulence than elegance; the wine is lush, big and round rather than lean, focused and tightly structured.
Alexander's Crown Single Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon
Alexander's Crown Vineyard produced the first Vineyard Designated Cabernet Sauvignon in Sonoma County. Planted by Rod Strong in 1971, the first vintage was the unforgettable 1974, which placed Sonoma County, and the Alexander's Crown, indelibly on “the map”, not to mention garnering top honors by winning the Sweepstakes award at the Sonoma County Harvest Fair. Since then, it has continued to gain prominence over the years.
