There are some occasions in life that nothing else will do.
Cristal 2006 Ultimate Champagne Basket
It, Now! |
Brut Nature 2006 originated on the terroirs on the Louis Roederer Estate—a vineyard that has been patiently cultivated by the House’s winegrowers and oenologists. Louis Roederer’s philosophy is shared by Philippe Starck: both are engaged in a quest for authenticity. They decided to draw inspiration from river wines to create a straightforward, medium-dry, terroir-based champagne.
This large stylish chest holds a prestigious selection
of gourmet foods, the Cristal Roederer 2006
and an additional bottle of the highly regarded Groth Cabernet Sauvignon showcased elegantly in a chocolate-brown leather chest complete with suede interior, sturdy brass rivets and a secure metal latch for long term use. 2006 Cristal has an intriguing harmony of aromas, flavors and freshness. As a young wine it is already deliciously balanced and charming, and promises to be a magnificent champagne in full maturity.
Two bottles of champagne and wine make for a generous and impressive gift.
Brilliant color with pale gold highlights, indicating a year of very fine ripeness. A fine, steady flow of bubbles. A rich bouquet with hints of zesty fruit, lilies and light toasty hint of hazelnuts develops in the glass as the fruit aromas become more intense and complex. The palate confirms the delicate fruit with a deep ripe flavor and silky texture, finishing crisply with a pure, minerally balance. 55% Pinot Noir, 45% Chardonnay.
Groth Cabernet Sauvignon
Napa Valley's Groth Vineyards was founded in 1982 with the aim of making great cabernet sauvignon. The texture of the wine is soft and supple, typical of Cabernet Sauvignons grown in the Oakville AVA. The sweet vanilla character derived from 22 months in the barrels blends well with the black cherry and blackberry flavors and aromas of the wine.
Roederer Estate Brut, the first California sparkling wine produced by Champagne Louis Roederer, builds upon a 200-year tradition of fine winemaking that has made Roederer champagne among the most sought-after in the world.
Roederer's winemaking style is based on two elements: ownership of its own vineyards and the addition of oak-aged reserve wines to each year's blend or cuvee.
